Let me draw your favorite person, animal or character in my expressive digital art style! My art style has been heavily influenced by the art of animations and comic books. The result is a cartoon-esque quality with expressive line art and bold cell shading. Cell shading is a coloring style that has more dramatic hard edges and lighting rather than a soft blended coloring style (known as soft shading.)
I am currently offering two portrait package options. The quickest way to secure your spot is to checkout through my shopping cart. I can also accept Afterpay that allows you to split your payment into 4 installments over 6 weeks. See my FAQ section for more details on this option.
Head Portrait
With this package, you will receive a custom full color digital drawing of the face and shoulders of the subject with a simple background. You will receive the final commission as a vivid full color art print. Art prints are made on high quality 230 gsm archival quality art paper that will last for years to come. It will arrive unframed in a plastic sleeve with rigid support.

Process for Portrait commissions
Place Your Order
Place your order on the product page. Be sure to also add an upgrades to the cart before checking out.
Email Your Photos
Email your photo to hello@thesarahsimpson.com. Providing multiple photos will allow me to help you select the photo that will make the best artwork, but isn’t required. Please look for photos that are clear and crisp.
Proofing Date
You will receive a confirmation email letting you know that you are on my schedule and when to expect a proof of your art. You will have an opportunity to request one round of revision. Turn-around time varies, but is generally around 2 weeks.
Artwork Will Be Finished and Mailed
Upon your approval of the final art, it will be printed and mailed to you along with any add ons you requested.
Portrait commission FAQ
What if I need it by a certain date?
Commissions will take a minimum of 2-4 weeks plus shipping time. If you would like to receive sooner, please email me at hello@thesarahsimpson.com before booking your commission to confirm I can meet your timeline. Rush fees may apply.
Do you accept a payment plan?
I can offer you Square AfterPay for a 6% processing fee. This allows you to pay for the commission in 4 payments over 6 weeks. Since there is an increased processing fee from Square, I will need to pass that onto you by adding it to your invoice total. There are no additional fees or interest payments for paying with this method. I will need to send you an invoice, so email me directly if you would like to use this option.
Can I add more details or have a more detailed background?
Yes, but additional charges may apply depending on your request. Please email me with questions. Happy to discuss!
I have an idea for an original character or fantastical scene. Will you draw it?
Sure sounds fun, but will take more time than working directly from a reference image. Email me and let's talk about your idea.
Do you make custom fan art?
YES! I love drawing fan art. You can check out with a portait package and provide provide your favorite reference images.
Anything You Won't Draw?
Yep. I like to keep it mostly PG13. I'm not into drawing graphic violence, especially violence against women or or anything too smexy in nature. I also wouldnt' necessarily commission me to draw machinery or cars or anything like that. It's just not what I'm good at. My expertise is in character and whimsical/fantastical scenes with a spooky cute flair.
